Being lighter and more scalable than what had gone before it was decided to include a 'self-launch' facility from the get-go. This would allow the craft to be flown from quayside to sea, where combined with rear-mounted cruise-motors it might also be levitated into 'surface-effect' when sea states allow... such LIFT+CRUISE configurations are already commercially proven amongst aerial drones and air-taxis.
