FOUNDERS

It was the engineer Harry Ricardo who said that the way technical evolution works, is a few designs get ahead whether optimal or not, and become so only by the wealth of talent that is later applied.

In such a view it could be seen as accidental that road vehicles should so long have used carbon fuels instead of electrons; though It also means that unless you and I act, then a winner-takes-all market will develop for UAM solutions, with a market which favours the establishment, as it has with hydrocarbons.

Against such a background and in the belief there is scope for a home-brewed solution, the Boeing-sponsored GoFly challenge which took place in February of 2020 seemed the ideal focus for developmental efforts ~ and in fact TEAM TELEDRONE proved to be the only UK team from among 854 worldwide to make the cut.

(And as co-sponsors Pratt and Whitney said at the time, it was much like self-driving car competitions... vehicles all over the place at the opening event, yet beta-products at the subsequent.)

But as the inventor I believe in 'small', from the point of view that it increases the rate of experimental iteration whilst keeping the cost to a minimum, and allowing the fastest response to outside stimuli (like pandemic).

So we're still in the running for the ongoing challenge and the team remains comprised of myself and a private investor, while using the services of consultants and drone pilots as required.

I've fifteen thousand flying hours beside a history of design and invention for entities which include the British Technology Group, best known for funding Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and monoclonal antibodies ~ and previous to these, the hovercraft.
